Yes, I know there's a "Sandman" thread but I wanted to start a new thread with this awesome writer. Has anyone else read anything by him? How do you like his books? Right now, I'm reading "Anansi Boys" (couldn't afford to buy the Hardcover ). I'm so glad English books are so inexpensive nowadays, 10 years ago I had to pay twice the price! Are there any other authors you'd suggest if someone likes Neil Gaiman???

I just finished "American Gods", and I've read "Neverwhere" as well. I preferred Neverwhere, but American Gods was quite good. Oh, also read (and highly recommend) "Good Omens", the book he co-wrote with Terry Pratchett. Awesome stuff. Not sure of similar writers... he's hard to imitate.

Anansi Boys takes up the "the gods are between us"-theory, main characters are the sons of Mr Nancy, introduced in "American Gods". I liked "Neverwhere" better, too. As Gaiman tells in the Intro, it was originally a BBC-series I haven't watched yet (too expensive... 99 Euros for the imported DVDs). But I often prefer the books to the movies... no ... ALWAYS

Love Gaiman. I'm going to go against the flow and say that I liked American Gods better than I did Neverwhere. Both were great, though. I keep meaning to read Anansi Boys but that would involve getting around to the library.
