Copper as an adult
I'll break it down into days (My vacation)
Day 1 - Arrival & The Magic Kingdom - After a FABULOUS (
) wake up at 1:25 AM......... we (My family and I..... and my imaginary friend Stuart Vanderschmidt (yes that is made up
)) spend 4 hours flying in a hot plane, at this point I was reluctant to go... because I'd been led to believe that the only things to do at Disney world were for little kids 6 - 8, and i thought the 50th celebration was just last year.... we get there and go to our hotel,
Disney's Pop Century Resort and I'm already taken aback by the amount of things I like (Blue Suede Shoes - Elvis Presly was playing on the hotel radio, I sang the song in my chior just 2 years before)... anyways, i can describe the hotel farther if someone asks me to... So we head on to PARK DAY 1 (triumphant music played on a trumpet): we ride a bus to the Magic Kingdom (let me set the scene for you... it's a bus.... wait.... okay no more setting scenes) still reluctant... (though less than earlier because i got my golden Mickey Mouse hat (what can i say
i wanted a piece of history!...(we'll get back to that later(4 parenthesis
*)))) we enter the park... after a special card handshake... peace sign and squeeze this thingy that shoots the card out the other side... and we're there just as the first parade is coming around by the entrance.... which was pretty lucky I'd say
. We go on our first ride at WDW(Walt Disney World -shot-) after the parade of easily $100,000 floats... our first ride is Stitch's Great Escape (my sister likes Stitch
, I wanted the more traditional Walt Disney stuff, anamatronics man!) it was alright, i'd personally prefer not having a belch scent sprayed in my face... but to each his(or her) own... we go across the path there to Buzz Lightyear Space Ranger Spin, a target shooter game, I beat everyone in my family and got a pretty funny picture of me taking the thing too seriously, i got 78,400 points, my mom... at a disadvantage, since my sister doesn't understand the control stick is for aiming the craft not spinning it, got a 31,700, my sister got a...100... and my dad... whose laser... and i agree... didn't work very well, got a 3,200... From there we travelled to the Carousel of Progress after taking a tourist pic of me and my sister with Buzz Lightyear, Carousel of Progress was pretty interesting... but they had to sing a song, the same song, at the end of EVERY segment... so we grew slightly tired of that... otherwise it was pretty good... from there we went to dinner.... where my parents ate at Tony's Italian Resturant(e)... because me and my sister were oddly not hungry... this is where I experienced my worst problem... no Dr Pepper..... you don't understand how bad this hurt me... I needs my Dr Pepper... we finished our meal, crossed the street...like...thing, to the middle of the entry plaza, from here we watched the SpectroMagic parade... completely different floats... with amazing lighting on them...probably also around $100,000 each... after the end of this we saw the Wishes night spectacular... lots of fireworks.... lots of awesome fireworks... fireworks...
(they banned fireworks completely in my hometown....... how depressing and unpatriotic....)

ParadeDay 2 - Epcot Center - Waking up at a more preferred 11:00... we head into PARK DAY 2: Epcot Center... immediately... there were no omens that the day would end like it did... probably the only tears I shed the whole trip... but we'll get to that later... come to think of it... if there were ANY omens for the day it would be this one... we enter the park and arrive infront of the ball, and see all the cool plaques they have... anyways... we head for our first stop... and to take advantage of our FastPass feature, so dad uses the fastpass on the General Motors sponsored Test Track, dad puts in the cards and gets the FastPasses..... then mom says "why not just go in and wait in line?" so we go and wait in line... and we wait.... and we wait.... and we wait.... an hour we wait... listening to a 4 second techno thing.... and we finally ride it.... I personally loved it... but because I don't know what's about to happen.. I have a habit of closing my mouth so I don't bite my tongue...so I look like I'm contemplating some complicated formula... my mom is in a bad mood because we wasted an hour waiting (I know) so we head off to spend time moving around the park looking for stuff to do... so we walk... lol... we come back and do the ride again (hey, dun wanna waste the FastPass...) and after that we go off to do the countries.. but first we stop by and find out where our reservation for our resturant takes us, and get a FastPass for Soarin', then we go to Honey... I Shrunk The Audience... which was a bit predictable... then to the aquarium and back to Soarin', one of the most interesting rides, you're seated in skilift style seats and are lifted forward to an Imax sized theater that tapes a flight of America complete with smells of the apple orchard, and pine trees... and from here we go around the countries.... and... in Canada I find one of 3 of the many hidden Mickeys in the park... and we move on to United Kingdom... France, Morocco, and Japan... where we stopped... because i REALLY wanted to see Illuminations: Reflections of the Earth from near the torii, where I wanted to take some fireworks pics... which i also still have and may upload if I get the time
we saw a toy museum in the Japan section which was pretty cool and I got a dog tag with my name in Japanese on it
but this is where it took a grave turn for the worst.... I wanted to stay here... and forgot we hadn't eaten... and my mom was hungry but wouldn't tell me, or I'd've given up my seats so we could eat... but I wasn't informed and mom was so irritable I ruined her day... but by the time i found out she was in the unforgiving state... which very quickly brought me to my breaking point because I did at all intend to hurt feelings an now I'd screwed someone else's day all up

Day 3 - Animal Kingdom - This one was fun... wake up at 11:00 again
and we go to PARK DAY 3: Animal Kingdom we start out with my dad sprinting off to get a FastPass for Kilamanjaro Safaris and we meet up at the Tree of Life where we saw It's Tough to Be a Bug... which I expected and summarize as subsatisfactory... but we move on... in time to go off to Kilamanjaro Safaris which moved too fast to take good pics... but I enjoyed it then we took a train to Conservation Station... wee!...er... o rhyming -.-; anyways... so we go to a petting zoo and stuff and it starts to rain... and when we get back we sit under a big dinosaur for a while... waiting for the rain to stop and then we go to the ride Dinosaur... where again, in the pic I look like I'm trying to find the answer to an EP level... fun, but bumpy... so the rain clears... and we head off to a couple dino-related rides, Primeval Whirl, and my dad and sister ride the TriceraTop Spin and we start taking pics of flowers... because they look cool... wanna make something of it? anyways... we lose track of time... and almost miss The Festival of the Lion King... one of the things I really wanted to see... so i dart all the way across the park in 5 minutes or less.... so the pizza wasn't free... sorry... oh... we get there... and watch the show... kind of interractive... we bleeted as giraffes... anyways... gymnastics... a guy with a lisp... odd setup for a broadway-esque thing... good show... all the Lion King characters... and some music and interraction... fun I enjoyed it.. my parents enjoyed it... i know how to pick the shows
we eat at Rainforest Cafe... and... THEY... HAVE... DR PEPPER!!!!!!!!!!!!! YAY!!! so I had Fetuccini Alfredo and Dr Pepper ;D and we go home... no night show at Animal Kingdom... but do explosives sound like a good idea around animals really?
Currently Unwritten about highlights: flower pictures... lol
Day 4 - Disney MGM Studios (1) - Another late wake... for a rocky day... dad b-lines it for the Tower of Terror FastPasses... and we get in line for the Rockin' Rollercoaster... featuring Aerosmith music... that isn't plain Disney... can't wait! we go and sit... and don't realise the ride accelerates from 0 to 60 in 2.6 seconds... and that's fast enough you skip a breath... and it freaked my mom out... but this was one of the best pics we had... me and dad go to the Tower of Terror and ride that... me and him now both look like we're watching Animal Planet
thinking "I didn't know a shark could do that... hmm" but it was fun... my mom and sister went to see some Beauty and the Beast thing... and we met up afterwards and went to lunch at the 50's Cafe or something... where you meet your mother who is your waitress and she is very manners-strict, no elbows on the table! you do homework... ours was the 9 parts of the body that are 3 letters long... arm, leg, eye, ear, gum (gums, but gum was the answer), rod (eye), ala (nose), lip, lid, fat, and hip, and we go to Lights! Motors! Action! one of the things i wanted to see most... and it storms... and they cancel it.... so we go to something else that is cancelled.... and my dad and I watch show while my mom and sister do something else... we go back... and see Lights! Motors! Action!.... or at least the bleachers... because a storm cancels it again... so at this point I'm furious... i wanted to see this more than ANYTHING... and I miss it TWICE... so I was irritable all day long after that until Fantasmic... where we saw the most amazing lights, water, and fire show I've ever seen... get home and I watch Japan TV like I always do at the hotel.... I don't understand it or anything... it's just fun

Day 5 - Disney MGM Studios (2) & Downtown Disney - My perserverance leads us to going back to MGM to see Lights! Motors! Action!... and on our now third try... (though it felt like [dice=24] hours( I had to use that
)) we see the whole thing... and it's AMAZING... if you get the chance to see it... SEE IT! those stunt drivers and actors are amazing! from there we went to a Disneybilia-type store... and I found the first thing Fox and the Hound (in case you didn't know some how... I LOVE Foxes... and if you saw my full room you'd automatically realise that, everywhere I go I make tiny grafitti of this
)) a little model thing... but it's out of my monetary reach $175 for half of the set
! so I look for a while, take a picture, and sigh.... thinking maybe I'll find something somewhere else...(not knowing I really would
there were only 9 Fox and the Hound things i could find in Disney catalogues of old stuff to now...... so the odds were against me) we walked down to the exit and onto the highlight 2 of the day... DOWNTOWN DISNEY... where else to lose ALL your money?
but it was a fun shopping experience... we went to places with Christmas (I do mean Christmas, not politically correct) stuff... and places with plushes... and places with pet stuff and candy stores and then... The Art of Disney... I went there because AND I QUOTE MYSELF..."I want to feel poor"
we saw pictures ups of $12,750... and then I saw the sketch artist... and looked through the colored sketch/watch book, to see all the $300 watches... which I thought were cool, but not noticing my mom and sister were looking at the black and white sketch book... and there it was... the sketch of The Fox and the Hound, Tod and Copper as kit and pup, or Tod and Vixey, but I went with the younger ones because it was cuter (^^
and the most main characters were in that pic... my dad said I'll pay for $35 of it if you pay the other $30... now to me this was a GREAT deal because i only had $40... and would have had to pass it up... so we paid, and the order was set, the guy said it should be done in a couple hours... so we'll save that for a couple hours later
we leave the shop.... and BOOM it rains again.... and it's unforgiving rain... like when you're in light rain on the highway... rain rain rain... and so we go to the pin shop... where I find out that there are 3 Fox and the Hound pins.... (-cough- we'll talk about that in a sec... or at the end
) NONE in stock.... at ANY of the stores (to save you reading of my pin-store escapade... nothing too entertaining about it) in Disney World...
(buzzkill huh?) anyways... so we wait... and we wait and we realise... if we keep waiting we're gonna waste the day... so we get on our jackets.... and go out in the rain (and I mutter things in my head because I get freaking water on my glasses -.-
and we go to a big toy store.... lots of stuff to buy... but we don't buy anything... then to a clothe store... again... then... a LEGO store
I LOVE LEGOS..... all kinds of Lego things... Lego dogs, Lego dragon, Lego... LEGOS! people made big lego characters out of the small ones, you know, like the Toa from Bionicle, they made a big one with ALL the little Lego pieces made out of Lego pieces, the plus bars, the connectors, the mask, EVERYTHING and it's exact... so we go in the store.... and OH MY GOD I've NEVER seen anything like it! all the Lego sets I can't find at the stores... all the expensive sets (except Mindstorms, GMC
) and a guy... making the start-finish line of the Daytona track, from just a picture of the track... and he had to have it done... by the 4th, for the Pepsi 400 at Daytona
;;;; but they have these Lego grab bags that catch my eye... just random Legos from random sets... so i spend 2 hours picking the exact 2 I want...
and we go to a seafood place for my parents to eat... because my sister and I ate at McDonalds
(Mr Pibb!!!
) and they had these funny McDonalds cup trees
... I get my picture (^^!)... and pictures of my picture... (you know, with the artist and all) and then we bus across to the other end of Downtown (past Pleasure Island.... 18+) and we go by Planet Hollywood where they have the Bubba Gump Shrimp boat, Jenny...
anyways... so we go to a store called Starabilia... and I wanted to see that expensive stuff like... autographs of Gene Simmons and all... well me and my parents are amazed... signatures of such people as Emilia Eirhart, Charles Lindbergh, Annie Oakley... and... Tonto??? ô.o o.ô... anyways... and a signed Jimi Hendrix guitar... worth $70,000 so i fulfilled my goal of feeling poor needless to say
and then we go to a magnet store and I buy a Fox magnet (surprise!) and we go to the Virgin Megastore.... and I was very disapointed really... because it was like an extended music department at Target or something... but ah well... I had my picture ^^!!! (this is pretty much the end of this day...)

Day 6 - Epcot Wrapup and Magic Kingdom - actually waking up at 8:00 today reminds me we're almost done with WDW
we take a bus to Epcot and finish up the world... go to Mexico and se Oaxacan animals... with 2 Foxed
... for $80 and $300
however the $300 1 was trapped... I picked it up to see the price and the ear fell of... now the last thing I want is to be stuck paying $300 I don't have
... however... it was fixed, no problems... eat at Italy... home of what I consider the bottomless pit of Alfredo... I ordered a bowl of it, and the handmade noodles were so rich that even though I was VERY hungry... me nor my mom could finish our bowl... and we never even saw the bottoms... anyways we ride a boat across the water and realise apparently these 3 drivers can't drive when they almost take out the pier
and we see the inside of the Epcot globe, which was a real neat show... and then we head for the monorail... which was full enough we would have to stand... but after entering the gate we decide to wait for the train, the conductor says "hold them over special"... we didn't understand what that meant... but anyways... so the train takes off and the next one arrives... the conductor opens the door.... and lets us ride in the front cab!!! This is real cool... because we were excited enough to ride in the monorail, my dad and I like trains
but we get on... and my dad asks if the monorails ever pass... the driver says every once in a while they do... and then we reach a turn where one happens to be coming up... now we wouldn't meet it close enough for a good pic... except for that the driver slows down so my dad can do just that! so we have some great monorail pictures and we arrive at Magic Kingdom again... because my mom always wanted to see the It's a Small World ride... this bothers me... because in the past year i've probably heard that song 80 times... and it's repetitive... and it gets stuck in your head.... so we ride it... and the ride was alright but now I got the song stuck in my head for 20 minutes... but we head off to our next target... the Hall of Presidents... now... my parents were kind of skeptical of this too... but after they saw it... all we have to say is... it's a MUST see... all of the presidents when idling even shuffle their feet or converse with one another... it's astounding... after the Hall of Presidents we get on the Train and ride to Fronteirland... we get off the train.... and..... BOOM rain... we go inside... and wait... we wait probably an hour and a half for this storm to pass... towards the end the lightning gets REAL close... but that makes something amazing happen... lightning strikes a mortar for the fireworkds show... and sets off the fireworkds early!!
HOWEVER... it's so close it makes some kids cry........ again... probably time number [dice=10000000] (I like this randomizer thing
) but after the storm passes... leaving the place soggy.... to say the least... we see Wishes night show again... and it's still great
this more or less, however ended the Disney trip
it was probably one of the most memorable times in my life... just under Japan

Day 7 - Kennedy Space Center & Daytona Beach - packed and ready we head to the airport to get our rental car, Dodge Durango... because the Magnum we were expecting... wasn't there or something... anyways... the vehicle we got was great
had Sirius Satellite Radio
(I should get paid for these adverts
) so we take off for Kennedy Space Center... paying 50¢ tolls every 5 miles or so... we get there and take a bus tour, see the shuttle on the pad, and the Vehicle Assembly Building and then we see actual parts of the ISS that are being constructed
than we head back and see a frame with autographs and mission patches from all the people who set foot on the moon for sale for $15,000 needless to say... we didn't get it
but we also got to touch a piece of the moon, and see a HUGE meteorite ($10,000) we leave the Space Center(which has its own AM station, 1320 (Kennedy Space Center Radio, gives info about open times, and special events) when near it) then we head for Daytona we get there at.... i think 8:30... whenever it was... it was already dark... now i was a bit relcutant to go to Daytona after what I heard on the local news at WDW... they said a serial killer was on the loose... feel comfortable going there too huh? anyways... so we go out and see the beach... go inside and go to our room... OH and there was Dr Pepper here YAY!!! I go to sleep watching the 50 Most Awesomely Bad Songs of All Time
passed out on I think 46... anyways... so that day ends... not a whole lot of major activity except getting to see the shuttle from 3 and a half miles away(mission 121, Shuttle Discovery)

Day 8 - Daytona Beach and Fly Home - Wake up at 8:00, go to the beach, get some shells... and a dead crab (smells nice
... sets out on the porch to dry right now
(kinda like the cheap fish you buy at Kroeger or wherever(Dillons, Gibbs, HyVee... Food4Less? bah)... smellwise)) go up on the parking garage to get in our vehicle, and ride it on the beach
get off... go on the pier... and a guy is selling red eared slider turtles for $20 a piece... we take some pics... and then we go down on the beach by the pier... and before we head back I see a turtle shell... I head over to see what's going on... and... now distraught... because I'm almost certain that the turtle, a red eared slider... was beheaded by someone with a pocket knife
! why are people so cruel! it's evil and made me pretty sick for the rest of the day... I really wanted to go to the Earnhardt memorial before we left... but it's the week of a Daytona race... so I had to pass that up... so we head on back to the airport and fly home... -End of Story-
