Feel free to post your poetry here (If any of mine seem depressing...that's just cause they're old and from those angsty high-school years..lol) I'll start off with a poem I originally wrote to go with a character from a story I starting writing...if I ever get around to finishing that story...I might post it..lol "Torn" Torn between two ends, A child trapped; In the body of an adult, Its cage, its shell. Innocence bruised and cut, By sharp shards of A frozen, scarred, And fragile heart. The choice to make, Life or death; Succumb to the nightmare, Or live in hope of a dream.

hmmm... heres a poem I wrote as a response to the Holocaust, for school.
It's called "Silent Cry"
All that I have Has been taken away Nothing is left My world turned gray Stripped of its color Left here to die So I stand here and utter My silent cry
There was no reason for them To come and destroy us It slowly sinks in We can’t adjust We did them no wrong No longer, I hold my head high We are empty shells Weeping a silent cry
We are eternally marked With signs of our despair Give up on our faith Or trust that there’s a reason somewhere No there is no reason To suck us dry No life left in us To utter a silent cry

Well, it could be worse...I could post *another one*...like...
Wait..that one's too depressing...uh...How about this one (currently untitled)
Stepping in the shadows That hide the dream from me Looking, searching; it's clearly there I squint, and wonder, yet cannot see
Abysmal darkness, ever haunting Keeping me trapped against my will Occasionally a flash of light But, fearing the unknown, I remain still
This prison is that within my mind A dream-world free from truth Part of me fights to be set free The other welcomes this mentality.
