Arrrgh! I've tried every attraction I could think of. Any more hints? Are you sure you're in the right place? The trick is knowing which route to take, and when to change trains.

I'm having a hard time making heads or tails of the map. I've found where the building would be located that Harold started from, but have no knowledge of subways and even have a hard time figuring out bus routes in the small city I live in. Any hint or help would be appreciated. Is the name of the location on the map, or do you have to figure it out from the street names of where you're supposed to end up?

You'll definitely need to follow the directions after figuring out which stop to end up at. If you follow the map correctly, thet directions are simple math, and then a Google search should turn up the answer.
Keep trying!

What is a block? Is it from one avenue to the next, one street to the next?

What is a block? Is it from one avenue to the next, one street to the next? That's correct. In the city, the distance between 1st Ave. and 2nd Ave. (or 59th St. and 60th St.) is one "block".

I know where Harold boards the train, and in which direction he travels, and where he runs after reaching his final d., but I can find no clues about how to find that destination. You hint above about changing trains; I have no idea where that info is hidden. I've gone over this entire puzzle, all three pages, and I am lost.

finally found what I'd missed, and I have found the answer, but it took awhile. I seemed to have too many notes, and got off one stop too late.

I just can't find the place for 44. I've checked and rechecked the notes and am certain I've got that bit OK, and the start point, but I have several possible end points. It's very hard to work out where you change, and there seem to be a lot of changes. Is it near the river, as that's my number one end point, and when we do find the name is it simple to put in, or do we have to try different ways - ie is it one word or several and if several do we need to put in the whole thing? Oh, any clues very welcome.

Thanks for the PM energythief.
My problem was dashing off too quickly before I finished rEADinG all the notes. It was simple as ABC after that.

Brian, did you find it easy once you had all the notes? Because that is my problem, I've been trying to follow that map WITH the correct information and I find it so difficult. I'm not SURE which is the correct end point. But I've tried the ones I think are the most likely, and can't find any attractions that work.
Google map is what I'm using, and it only seems to have the most major attractions - could this be my problem? Or is it that I'm still getting the wrong endpoint?

@chris: I guess you got the wrong destination. Google Earth definitely shows the attraction. Actually, you can hardly miss it. About the destination: If you follow the notes, there is no question where to change. Then read the map very carefully, ALL the information. Near the river is close, but the river is long.

mittens, I was using just google maps - maps.google.com. Have just downloaded Google Earth to try, but it doesnt seem to show any 'attractions'.
Brian, will do.

ah, sry, my mistake. But if Google Earth isn't showing anything, you're at the wrong adress. Best would really be, if you registered and PMed Brian or me or anyone else. I would help you finding your mistake, but I bet energythief would censor it right away (and he would be right doing it.) My guess is, you're too far north...
