As a general hint, if you're having trouble seeing across, stick to your instincts.
I hope I'm not giving away too much by saying that. And TMBG rocks.

I thought that I'd better bring this up, so here it is.
The new verison of Window Media Player does not allow you to view the song titles on the playlist. It simply shows "my_playlist" and an error box appears. I have completed this puzzle before, but I had an earlier version of the Media Player. Is there any way to view the song titles on this new version, because I've tried everything that I can think of!

You'll have to open it with another media player, like RealPlayer or something. Assuming you have another one, you could either set it as your default media player, or make an HTML document with a link to the playlist and then open the link with RealPlayer.

Alright, I opened the playlist, but I cannot seem to play the songs. Is this necessary to get the answer?

Nevermind, I have it. On to 11! Yay! (I was typing in the answer without the first letter... Duh!)

Ok, I'm stuck too. I did 1-9 yesterday; nine was my favorite so far. I'll keep poking at it over the next hour or so, but I've tried all the extensions I can think of.

Some common extensions are .m3u, .pls and .b4s... try some of those!

OK I'm seriously stuck here - I've tried everything I can find in the source with every extension I can think of - any hints as to where to look for the filename?

Still can't get it - I'll go back and re-read the thread and see if anything leaps out.

I finally had to come into the forum for some help in this terrific riddle game. Is the name of the first artist in the playlist paraphrased by "my friend the Cristmas plant"? I have a bad feeling that I'm looking at a different playlist than the one referred to in many puzzle 10 posts. Also, I get this playlist with 2 different file extensions. I got 5 "common" extensions from a popular info website. Thanks for any help.

You seem to have a different playlist. Check source carefully.

Thanks, nits. I got it. Funny that nobody else ran into my problem of a different playlist using different extensions. Also wonder how we were to tumble to one playlist being the right one. Gotta say that the 'answer' popped out quickly enough once I had the right playlist. Thanks again.

I've recently renewed my interest in The Enigma Puzzle and in reviewing some of the previous puzzles completed I am running into the same problem reported by "cornsyrup" Reply #104, Dec 13, 2006 4:27PM. I too have upgraded my Windows Media Player to 11 and find the "my_playlist" for Puzzle 10 will not load or display correctly. All I get is my_playlist and the screen displays - 05 - Electric Light Orchestra - Yours Truly 2099. I can't get to the rest of the playlist at all. I tried configuring the file type ( I know the one ) to open with Real Player. It still opens with Windows Media Player I tried configuring it to open with Wordpad. I also made an html page in Word pointing to members.shaw.ca/energythief/my_playlist.(***) That doesn't work either. Has anyone found out a work-around solution to this problem? Thanks ... AkelaDon

I got it using the extension .m3u
(I don't know if that will get censored)

To slamb871
Do you have Windows Media Player 11 ? I'm using the right extension but Media Player 11 does not display playlists the same as earlier versions, so all I get is the one entry 05 - Electric Light Orchestra .....etc
And ..... I just about crashed my computer trying to get it to open in Real Player .... seems like Microsoft has found a way to make their player exclusive over all others for internet input.
I did find a copy printed in my "scrap paper box".... I was just interested in redoing Puzzle 10 for my archive of my puzzles.
Thanks for the reply AkelaDon
