today (well... yesterday now), a fellow Spring 2008 alum passed away from anemia... he was only 19... and he died on, of all days, December 14, why is that so significant? it was his birthday... so... some birthday that must've been... well... that's just what's on my mind... comment if you want...
next to the loss itself... my biggest regret was that I barely knew him... and now, never will...

Hmm, this is ancient history now, but I wanted to acknowledge that I read this. I always feel bad for those individuals who suffer losses like this on "special days" or "holidays", as the celebrations will always be tinged with sadness afterwards. I know a friend whose father died on Valentine's Day... you can imagine how he likes that holiday. Makes for some sticky dating situations as well.
