I MUST know how people can see the 'low budget movies' as entertainment... Lionsgate is the company that made Cube, Cube 2: Hypercube, Cube Zero, Saw, Saw 2, and Hostel... (I don't know why, but I studdy things that bother me.... dun ask, I dun know)
Question at hand: WHY do people watch such movies, and what entertainment can they possibly bring???

I'm definitely NOT a fan of such movies (then again, I've only seen Saw - out of force, I might add) And I've never had any inclination at all to see any of the others... I don't see how they can bring such entertainment..

I've never seen any of those movies by personal choice. From their previews they seem like a low budget waste of film to me. Give me a good drama or suspence movie anyday.

well ive seen cube and cube 2 and i gotta say, i really did like em. it was an interesting storyline and the horror aspect of it was pretty minimal...but im not easily grossed out.
i don't really get why someone would willingly subject themselves to slasher movies like saw and hostel, but personaly, i think it's just to say "they saw it". but on the same note, why would you want to see ANY horror movie then? how about The Ring or The Grudge? fairly gruesome at some parts and just scary for the sake of scary... but i saw em anyway! sometimes its just fun to be scared i guess
oh, and i dont see how the budget of a film matters too much, good story + good acting = good movie

I don't mind horror, it's when they forget the border between horror and gore... someone just randomly getting their head ripped off is gore... something coming screaming out of a shack and slashing at things is horror... but its far more justifyable for adrenaline pumping, but bloodlust.... wtf?

well lets not rule out that many moviegoers are just plain crazy. yea i do agree with you there but it is a very fine line... and i guess some people have a greater tolerance for that knida stuff than others so where that line is, might be quite different from person to person
